We are a group of professionals from all over Europe that have worked for many years in the field on disability, with focus towards full inclusion of people with disabilities. Our aim with this portal is to bring in the spotlights those initiatives that can make a difference, and that can have an impact on the daily life of disadvantaged people.

* Karel Van Isacker possesses an MBA and a Diploma in Applied Economic Sciences with specialisation in International Management from the University Faculties Saint Ignatius Antwerp. He acquired experience in Belgian IT consulting projects and acted as Product Manager for several e-commerce projects in Belgium. Since 2001, he has been managing various projects related with e-Government (ICTE-PAN, ACCESS-eGOV, etc.) and is also an experienced eTen (SEM), FP5 and FP6 (EMERGE, ENABLE) project manager. He has also been heavily involved in (accessible) e-learning activities (SLIM-VRT, EURIDICE, EU4LL, MOTRASUP, etc.) and has extensive experience with Open Source e-learning platforms such as Moodle and ATutor. Since 2005, he has been acting mainly as project manager for a large number of projects dealing with people with disabilities, as well as elderly such as ASK-IT, EU4ALL, eABILITIES, OASIS, ACCESSIBLE and ÆGIS. Focus was in many of them on ensuring that the end-users’ needs are taken onboard, and that applications and services were pilot tested in Belgium, Bulagria, Greece and the United Kingdom. He is also providing consultancy on disability aspects such as employability, and is acting as external evaluator for various projects in the field of disability.
